1. What do I receive with my purchase? Upon purchase, you will receive a zipped file/files containing the designs formatted for an embroidery machine. All digital files are available for instant download. If instant download is NOT available, we send the design file via email within 24 hours. No finished physical product will be sent, only a digital file. These are not iron-on designs, transfers, patches or stickers. These digital files are not patterns that can be sewn with a regular sewing machine or by hand.
2. What do I need for my purchase? You will need an embroidery machine and embroidery software and devices to transfer the digital designs to your machine. Once again, these are not designed to be stitched by hand, a sewing machine or ironed on. You also need the knowledge of how to extract or unzip a zipped digital file. Please click here to learn how to unzip a file in Windows 7. You may seek this info out in your search bar. You need to know how to operate your embroidery machine and you must know your machine's hoop capabilities as well.
3. What machine formats do you offer? Currently we offer the following formats for instant download: DST, EXP, HUS, SEW, XXX, PES, JEF, VIP, VP3. If you do not see your format listed here, please feel free to contact me. These are the most popular and included in the files found on the site. We do not have the capability to offer ART at the moment.
4. How do I receive a refund? Due to the electronic nature of the product, the availability for instant download and the ability to be reproduced, refunds are not offered.
5. How do I pay for my designs? Our online store is an Amazon Powered web based service and our shopping cart utilizes Paypal for payment.
Paypal does NOT require you to create an account. You can still pay for your designs via PayPal using your credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), all without having a PayPal account.
6. I loved the design so much I bought it twice, now what? Please email us your transaction details of the original and duplicate purchase. We will be happy to send you a replacement. The new design must be one that was available on the site at the time of your duplicate purchase and of the same value as the duplicate purchase.
7. I want to add a name, initials, or combine designs, how do I manage that? You must have the proper software to achieve this. Some embroidery machines come with the software to complete this task. If your machine does not or if you are looking for additional software, you will find many on the market to help you with this goal. Most have a free 30 day trial so you can try it before you buy. I personally love Embird, but know many who use and love Sew What Pro too. You can contact your embroidery machine dealer for more software options.
8. Where are the free designs? We offer free designs in our store. You just add them to your cart, checkout and then download.They stay in your account. We currently offer additional freebies to Applique Forum and 4 the Love of Fabric. You must be a paid subscriber to these forums to benefit from the free designs and discount codes offered.
9. Do you offer custom digitizing or can you customize my East Coast Applique design purchase? No, at this time I do not accept custom digitizing work. Resizing and altering a design in any fashion falls within the realm of custom work and I am unable to do that at this time.
The designs are only available in the sizes which they were released in.
10. My computer crashed, my designs are gone! Can you help me? Just log into your East Coast Applique account and re-download. Your designs are stored in your purchase history and can be re-downloaded, no matter what went wrong. There is no download expiration date or maximum number of downloads.
11. I purchased some of your designs from your Facebook page and now I want to buy some from your website, are they in one account? Yes they are. You just log in to the store and your purchase history is there.
12. I resized my East Coast Applique design purchase and it stitched horrible, what happened? Our designs are digitized to stitch well at the size they are offered. It is a general rule of thumb when editing or resizing a design to not exceed more than 20%. I highly recommend for you to NOT change the design size more than 20% to maintain the integrity of the design. Please be advised that if you do edit or resize your designs, you do so at your own risk.
13. Am I allowed to use your photos of the design? With the purchase of this design, you have the right to use the photos or 3D software images that are included with the design file. You will find these photos and images in the design file you purchased. The photos are watermarked with our logo and tester info. The watermark of East Coast Applique and whom tested the item must remain on the photo at all times. You may not download and use photos from our website, Etsy or Facebook page/groups.
14. Am I allowed to sell items with your design on it? With the purchase of this design, you have the right to create items for gifting, personal use and selling in small quantities on venues such as Etsy, Artfire, Craft Shows, etc. We do not allow mass production of our designs (sewing them on a production line).
15. HELP, The design will not work with my machine! Several things may have happened. Please check all of the following first.
1. Did you unzip the design properly?
2. Did you transfer the designs to your machine correctly?
3. Did you load the design that would fit within your hoop?
4. You may try deleting the file and re-download the design. Sometimes files become corrupted during download.
5. If you still cannot get the design to work, please contact us by clicking the contact button at the top of the page. We will be glad to assist you.
16. When will my email be answered? Your email is important to us and we strive to answer within a 24 hour period. I operate out of our home and have children that I must tend to and a household to manage as well. Kindly allow up to 24 hours to receive a response to your email. Sometimes it is fairly quick. Sometimes it may take the full 24 hours. Also take note, we are on the East Coast of the United States so we operate on Eastern Standard Time (EST).
